Young Singers’ Competition

Our artistic strength is founded on our commitment to working at least partly with young artists: many singers who have appeared on the Bampton stage have gone on to enjoy successful national and international careers.

The biennial Bampton Classical Opera Young Singers' Competition, aimed at identifying the country's finest emerging young singers, was launched in 2013, our 20th birthday year.

The 2025 final was held at Wolfson College, Oxford on 25 November 2025.

Accompanist prize - Daniel Peter Silcock

Seohyun's programme included works by Handel, Mozart, Respighu and Marx.  Bonaventura Bottone, chair of the judging panel, said: "Our winner, Seohyun Go, has a serene presence and gave a flawless performance vocally, with a seemingly unlimited range and brilliance in coloratura.
